But the kidnapping stuck out like a sore thumb since the whole chapter was just plain unbelievable and it felt so out of book character. Michelle Hodkins included this extra so nicely that it felt like a normal part of the plot. I can handle a paranormal story since that made the book Urban Fantasy for me. Kidnapping was happening, which was surprisingly the subject that turned the book 180 degrees for me because it seemed so out of place. She simply was such a downer and people can witch-hunt me for the fact that I said that. Nonetheless, it annoyed me after some time. I think I already mentioned that in VOX, where the character had a reason to be dark as well. She was constantly whining and dark about everything.
The first half of the book was actually good, so I’m mad to report that the second half sucked and I’m going to describe why I didn’t like it at all (minus the cliffhanger, which just was plain mean).įirst of all, the more I read about Mara’s character, the more I disliked about here.
